Ingredients
1 L Sangria
1 green apple, cored
4 strawberries
1 orange, peeled
Handful of cherries, pitted or your favorite seasonal fruits and berries (optional)
What can be better paired with summer BBQ than Sangria? For me - nothing! I love Sangria's delicious aroma and rich fruity taste. It screams summer for me. Colorful, flavorful and light...I love this drink in summer, and especially with BBQ. First time I tried the fruit Sangria in Spain and it was amaizing! Having dinner at the beach front restaurant, watching sunset, eating delicious food and sipping refreshing fruity Sangria - it was a perfect vacation! So it was only natural that after returning home we wanted to recreate this holiday feeling (minus the beach, unfortunately). Spending warm summer day on the deck with kids in our beautiful backyard filled with flowers, having BBQ (curtesy of my husband), sipping cold Fruity Sangria is pretty great!
Directions
Peel an orange and cut it to cubes. Transfer to a pitcher.
You can also leave it unpeeled and slice thinly, but peeling it and cutting to bite size cubes make it easier to eat after you finish a drink :)
Chop the apple and add it to a pitcher.
Add other seasonal fruits and berries, like raspberries, cherries and strawberries.
Stir, cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
